About Us

Hello, I’m Matt Jenkins from Dublin, Ohio. I grew up along Lake Erie in Lorain and Huron Ohio, where lighthouses were always part of the backdrop.

Getting back into LEGO as an adult has been really fun for me.  After my parents brought down some of my old LEGO, I decided to make a Mini Ohio Stadium (GO BUCKS!) out of LEGO on a 16x16 stud LEGO plate.  I thought it looked cool, so I started making more and more mini stadiums.  I would tweet out new designs, and back in 2015 I was even featured on the ESPN.com Big Ten Blog for some of my LEGO stadiums.  Things started to take off, and I've just kept building and designing.  I still use only 100% LEGO bricks for all models, and I also design the models and instructions on stud.io- which is the official LEGO® digital building software.

More than 12,000 orders and 1,000 five-star reviews later, that hobby has grown into something much bigger. Today, I design and offer custom lighthouse replicas made from LEGO, inspired by real structures from all across the country. a full-circle connection back to where it all started on Lake Erie.

These days, one of my favorite things is traveling with my wife and our three daughters—especially up to Lake Erie to see the Marblehead Lighthouse, our personal Favorite.

My daughters make fun of me for starting my Lighthouse Era- but this is a great hobby for me and I also want to use it to give back.  A portion of every sale is donated to local lighthouse preservation groups, helping protect and restore the very landmarks that inspired these builds.

Thanks -Matt Jenkins  blocklighthouses@gmail.com
